Standard Compounds All Trowal standard compounds (highlighted in the adjoining table) have three main capabilities: - corrosion protection - cleaning capabilities - degreasing capabilities The individual Trowal products are characterized by having one or more of these capabilities to a higher or lesser degree.

Special Compounds For special applications, where acid resistance, a minimum of foam or pickling capabilities are required, Trowal offers special compounds, containing these additional characteristics.

The right process
Trowal offers three polishing systems which differ in cost and the desired surface finish:
The Trowapast process It is mainly used for high-lustre polish of rough and harder surfaces (steel, stainless steel, brass). Processing time lasts several hours. The powder concentrate to be used depends on the original surface roughness and the alloy of the work pieces.
Ball burnishing This quick an economical polishing process yields a decorative lustre on aluminium and zinc diecastings as well as on brass and stainless steel parts. For ball burnishing applications only steel media (balls, satellites, ball cones, etc.) are utilized: GB 13 light pickling, much foam AWS light pickling, little foam PL 84 pH-neutral, much foam
Powder compounds
Grinding Support Powder compounds are added to the finishing process to increase the grinding efficiency. They also help to clean "glazed" chips to re-establish their grinding capabilities: 9A for cleaning grinding chips 3A mixture of minerals for cleaning VS grinding support produces cmooth surfaces on parts

Turbo degreasing With very difficult degreasing problems, it is helpful to add degreasing powder at the start of the finishing process (shock degreasing): K5 intensive degreasing, much foam K96 adequate degreasing, little foam

Pickling Compounds Instead of the liquid pickling compound LZ 11 an easy to handle powder can be utilized: Z1, very acidic, for pickling, descaling and de-rusting

Cleaning of process water After the mass finishing process, the process ater contains chip and metal abrasion, in many cases oil too. No matter whether the water is recycled or goes directly to drain, it must be cleaned beforehand. For discharging the process water to drain, the contents of other pollutants (CSB, metals), must be reduced, too.
Flocculants for loss technolgy
Liquid flocculants For fully automatic flocculation systems (GA.., DO..), liquid flocculants are recommended, which are easy to dose: - LAC cancels the effect of tensides and forms micro-flakes - F enlarges the flakes and purifies the water
Powder flocculants In manual flocculation systems, powder simplifies the handling: - ESM specially suited for oil-containing water - ESB more economic, for oil-free water
Flocculants for recycling technology
To obtain clear water in recycling systems, special flocculants must be usede together with ESM:
- ESM powder for oil-containing water with little abrasion - ESO powder as fiber to put weight on the flakes - V liquid for oil-free recirculations with compound KS 66 - R liquid for oil-containing recirculations with compoundDE 97
