Focus on the cleaning process

Thorough & Reliable

Cleaning is an important process step in manufacturing technology, in which contaminants such as dust, abrasion particles, oils or machining residues are removed from component surfaces. These often arise during previous machining steps and can impair the quality and function of the components.

The cleaning process is used in many industries, particularly in metalworking, the Automotive industry, electronics manufacturing and Medical engineering. Clean surfaces are an essential prerequisite for subsequent processes such as Coating, assembly or packaging.

  • Reliable removal of typical manufacturing contaminants
  • Greater process reliability in subsequent stages
  • Protection of component quality and function

That’s why you should perform cleaning with solutions from Walther Trowal

Benefits at a glance

Double-action cleaning

Our specially developed Compounds dissolve fats, oils and dirt, whilst the abrasive media continuously abrade the component’s surface. This ensures a particularly thorough cleaning – even in the case of stubborn, stubbornly adhering residues.

Optimally matched process media

At Walther Trowal, we offer a comprehensive range of compounds for cleaning, degreasing and corrosion protection. For particularly heavy grease and oil contamination, high-performance degreasing powders are also available. This allows the cleaning process to be optimally adapted to the specific level of contamination.

Continuous removal of dirt and grease

During the process, Compounds and water are continuously metered. Dissolved fats, oils and dirt particles are reliably removed via the screening system into the water outlet. This ensures that the cleaning performance remains consistently high and reproducible results are achieved.

Customised cleaning solutions

Thorough component cleaning for maximum process reliability

In workshops and repair centres, machine parts must be thoroughly cleaned before being refitted, as even the tiniest particles of dirt can cause considerable damage – for example, in an engine.

We use special consumables that thoroughly dissolve grease. The effect is particularly intense, as the constant collision of the abrasive media with the workpiece surface brings the compound into very close contact with the contaminants, thereby mechanically removing them.

Examples of applications for Cleaning

Workpieces

Systematic cleaning – developed and manufactured in-house. At Walther Trowal, we combine the chemical cleaning action of our in-house Compounds – which are specially tailored to each individual process – with the mechanical action of the vibratory finishing process. This ensures that greases, oils, abrasion particles and adhering residues are not only reliably dissolved, but also gently and effectively removed from the component surface. Our Compounds are developed and manufactured at our plant in Haan (Germany). Our plastic abrasive media are also produced there in-house. We manufacture the ceramic abrasive media at our plant in Stoke-on-Trent (UK). This enables us to ensure optimal coordination of all process components and consistently high quality from a single source.
