Mass finishing using Centrifugal finishing systems

Centrifugal finishing systems: Specifically designed for mass-produced parts

Turbotron centrifugal finishing systems are used wherever a particularly high grinding capacity is required, for example for deburring, rounding, smoothing and polishing small to medium-sized mass-produced parts.

Mass finishing technology with power

Centrifugal finishing systems – with ten times the grinding capacity

Compared with circular vibratory finishing machines, centrifugal finishing systems achieve up to ten times the grinding output. They are mostly used for small and medium-sized workpieces. They are particularly effective for

Centrifugal finishing systems: The technology

For more intense relative motion

A turntable rotates in the lower part of the bulbous working vessel. The centrifugal force generated by this action propels the mixture – consisting of workpieces, Abrasive media, Compounds and water – upwards along the inner wall of the working vessel. From there, it slides back towards the centre of the vessel and onto the turntable, where it is repeatedly accelerated once more.

The high pressure exerted by the abrasive media on the surface of the workpieces gives centrifugal finishing systems more than ten times the grinding capacity of circular vibratory finishing machines.

Thanks to the automatic separation of the workpieces from the Abrasive media, centrifugal finishing systems are ideally suited for integration into interlinked, automated processes.

The effective two-batch principle for high throughput

Where high throughput is required, mass finishing and separation are carried out as separate processes. There are two options to choose from:

  • The TT...A/2C two-batch system comprises a processing vessel and a screening machine. Whilst the first batch is still being screened, the second is already being processed. This minimises costly downtime.
  • If the time required for mass finishing is longer than that for separation, tandem systems with two synchronously operating tanks are the most cost-effective solution: they feed the shared screening tray alternately.

Customise centrifugal finishing systems

The TT...B series centrifugal finishing systems are available with an optional screening unit. They are fitted with peripheral equipment to meet individual requirements.

Cost-effective – even for small quantities

Centrifugal finishing systems in the TT...SM series are suitable for processing relatively small batch sizes. They feature a screening machine that is flanged to the working chamber. As a result, they take up very little floor space.

Industrial applications for centrifugal finishing systems

Workpieces

The high pressure exerted by the abrasive media on the surface of the workpieces as the turntable rotates results in intensive yet gentle material removal. The result: short machining times.
