High gloss guaranteed

Super Polishing

The process of surface polishing

Shine & Precision

Super Polishing produces particularly smooth and uniformly glossy results, which improve both the visual quality and the functionality of components. Fine roughness, grinding marks or matt areas resulting from previous machining steps such as milling, turning, punching or laser cutting can be specifically reduced or completely removed through the polishing process.

Polishing is used in many industrial sectors, particularly in metalworking, the Automotive industry, electronics manufacturing and Medical engineering. The process ensures high-quality surfaces with an improved feel, facilitates subsequent coating processes and helps to ensure consistently high surface quality and an attractive appearance of the components.

  • High-quality, uniformly glossy surfaces
  • Improved tactile feel and reduced roughness
  • Optimal preparation for coatings and further processes

Time savings through the combination of grinding and polishing processes

For suitable workpieces, the ‘trowapast’ process involves smoothing and then polishing in a single step.

Targeted machining of surfaces rather than edges

‘trowapast’ grinding and polishing pastes are primarily effective on surfaces rather than on edges – which is important for components where the geometry must be preserved (e.g. knives or decorative exposed parts).

Suitable solutions for different materials

‘trowapast’ pastes are suitable for steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, ceramics and plastics; some pastes are specifically designed for brass or hard materials (e.g. ceramics).

Automated high-gloss polishing using the vibratory finishing process

For perfect surfaces in a short time

Manual high-gloss polishing of decorative items or fittings is costly and time-consuming. Furthermore, the result is heavily dependent on subjective factors. By contrast, our trowapast process is particularly effective and far superior to manual polishing in both technical and economic terms: At the start of the process, the surface is first ground smooth. During this process, the grains of the trowapast grinding mineral are ground down until they are fine enough to act as a polishing powder. This means that grinding and polishing are carried out very effectively in a single operation.

The workpieces receive their ‘final polish’ once the mineral powder has been rinsed out and only the workpieces, the polishing media and a special Compound remain in the work tank.
