Deburring is a crucial process in manufacturing technology, in which burrs, sharp edges and unwanted protrusions are removed from components. These can arise during machining processes such as milling, turning, stamping or injection moulding, and can compromise both the functionality and safety of the components.
The deburring process is used in many industries, particularly in metalworking, the Automotive industry, electronics manufacturing and Medical engineering.
- Greater safety thanks to burr-free edges
- Greater functional reliability and fitting accuracy
- Less rework during assembly and further processing

Whether it’s casting, punching, sawing or machining: burrs are produced during almost every forming process. They impair the function of workpieces and also pose a high risk of injury.
The challenge is to remove the burrs without removing too much material from other areas. Furthermore, in most cases, the burrs must not be folded over.
Our abrasive media, specially developed for deburring, remove the burrs whilst exerting less intense action on the surface of the workpieces. Particularly with complex-shaped workpieces, they reach areas that are virtually inaccessible during manual Deburring. Depending on the material and shape of the workpieces, as well as the nature of the burrs, we configure the optimal combination of machine type and process media, and integrate the machines and their peripherals into your production workflow.
With our Walther Trowal machines, you can remove burrs precisely, consistently and in a way that suits your workpiece. Thanks to the carefully balanced combination of machine, Abrasive media and Compounds, even complex geometries are processed reliably, whilst the rest of the surface is protected as much as possible. We work with you to develop a deburring process that integrates seamlessly into your production workflow.
