Mass finishing using circular vibratory finishing machines and multi-vibratory finishing machines

Circular vibratory finishing machine: the all-rounders of surface finishing

From deburring to high-gloss polishing, circular vibratory finishing machines are extremely versatile. They are suitable for a wide range of small to medium-sized workpieces and can be used as stand-alone units or easily integrated into automated production lines.

The classics of mass finishing technology

Circular vibratory finishing machine – ideal for a wide range of applications

From small precision workpieces to large components: whether steel, aluminium, die-cast zinc or plastic, Walther Trowal’s circular vibratory finishing machines gently finish the surface of workpieces – with maximum process reliability and minimal effort … even with complex geometries and high production volumes.

Circular vibratory finishing machines are ideal for

Multi-vibratory finishing machine – circular vibratory finishing machine with Multivib drive – complements the technology for machining complex-shaped workpieces.

Free-floating

In the circular vibratory finishing machines, the workpieces circulate together with the Abrasive media in the ring-shaped working chamber.

Properly sorted

In the screening zone, the workpieces are separated from the abrasive media.

Circular vibratory finishing machine: The technology

Versatile

In circular vibratory finishing machines, the relative movement between the workpieces and the abrasive media is achieved in two ways: either the parts circulate within the working chamber together with the abrasive media, or they are fixed in place within it and the abrasive media flows around them.

Traditional circular vibratory finishing machines feature a ring-shaped working chamber which is filled with the workpieces and abrasive media. It is set into vibration by unbalanced motors in such a way that the workpieces move in a spiral pattern within the abrasive media. This creates the relative motion that results in material being gently removed.

In multi-vibratory finishing machines and TX finishers, the workpieces are clamped into the working chamber. This ensures that the relative movement is particularly intense; furthermore, the workpieces do not come into contact with one another. This broadens the range of possibilities to include parts with complex shapes and very delicate surfaces.

Industrial applications for circular vibratory finishing machines

Workpieces

Circular vibratory finishing machines are primarily used for cast, ground, milled and stamped parts. The size range of the workpieces extends from small parts with a diameter of just a few millimetres to large components with a diameter of more than one metre.

Circular vibratory finishing machines ensure smooth operations

After machining, the abrasive media are separated from the workpieces in the screening zone and returned to the working tank. Only the workpieces leave the system – an important consideration, particularly in automated, interlinked processes, as Abrasive media must not enter the subsequent process and workpieces from different batches must not be mixed.
