Many components in the medical engineering sector place extreme demands on surface quality. Particularly in the case of implants subject to high mechanical stress and with complex surface geometries – such as knee joints – material must be removed evenly during grinding and polishing. This results in exceptionally smooth surfaces that are wear-resistant and continue to function reliably within the body over the long term.
