With their long, linear work tank, these continuous processing machines are particularly suitable for deburring, grinding and degreasing:
- large quantities of small and medium-sized mass-produced parts – for example, stamped, die-cast, formed and forged parts,
- larger parts, such as oil pans, cylinder head covers or engine and pump casings.
Continuous processing machines can be integrated very easily into fully automated manufacturing processes or interlinked production lines. The workpieces are fed in as bulk material or individually, as and when they are produced – for example, as they leave a casting line.

The linear trough of the continuous processing machine is filled with abrasive media and is set into vibration evenly along its entire length by several unbalanced weights. The MULTIVIB system, developed by Walther Trowal, offers the major advantage of uniform processing along the entire length of the working trough.
Together with the abrasive media, the workpieces move through the trough in a spiral pattern. At the end of the trough, they exit the working vessel via a screening zone: the workpieces are discharged from the machine, whilst the abrasive media fall through the screen onto a conveyor belt and are automatically returned to the cycle.
The duration of the processing can be variably adjusted within a wide range via the drive for the discharge channel.
