In mass finishing , the abrasive not only processes your workpieces but also the processing tank. That is why the steel tanks in our mass finishing systems are protected by our particularly wear-resistant PURALON® linings. We manufacture these in-house using our own mercury-free formulations, which are specifically tailored to our applications. As a result, our PURALON® linings are environmentally friendly and exceptionally robust. However, even this wear protection needs to be replaced from time to time.
Replacement with our as-new tanks, supplied as long-term spare parts, must involve as little downtime as possible. If your working tank is worn out, simply get in touch with our customer service team. You can do this via our contact form, by email or by telephone. You will then receive a brand-new replacement bowl. Whilst this is being manufactured for you, your production willcontinueas normal using your existing bowl.

We produce an exact replica of your container from our stock of used containers . In doing so, we replace all fittings to eliminate potential sources of damage for your container’s next life cycle. Once completed, we will send this container to you.Replacing your worn-out container with the as-new Replacement bowls can usually be done within three to four hours. This means only minimal downtime for your production.
After the replacement, we take back your old container and add it to our pool of used containers, where it too awaits a new lease of life. In this way, we can reuse valuable resources. Here, once again, the concept of sustainability, a principle that has always been deeply rooted in our company.
As the inventors of mass finishing, we are confident in the quality of our work; you therefore receive the same warranty for our PURALON® lining, the fitted components and the steel structure as you would for a brand-new machine.
- Product in mint condition with manufacturer’s warranty
- Inspected and professionally repaired steel structure with no hidden surprises
- Minimal downtime in your production thanks to rapid replacement
- Cast and tempered lining made from high-quality PURALON®
- Replacement of all fittings to ensure a trouble-free service life for the tank

Replacement bowls from Walther Trowal comprise a tested and professionally refurbished steel structure, as well as a PURALON® lining that has been cast and tempered under production conditions.
If you’d like to take a look behind the scenes, we’re happy to give you the chance to do so here . We’ll openly show you the process that is initiated once you’ve placed your order.
A duplicate of your current container is produced from the pool of containers stored for reuse.
This is done in the following steps.
All fittings are removed and disposed of, as these parts were also subjected to constant vibrations. That is why, at Walther Trowal, we only use new fittings for your tank, which will be as good as new.
In the next step, the dismantled steel tank is professionally and environmentally responsibly burnt out in compliance with all European limit values, in order to cleanly remove the worn Coating. The steel tank is then blasted and primed on the outside. On the inside, a primer is applied to ensure that our PURALON® lining adheres perfectly.
In this stage, any damage to the steel structure is professionally welded and repaired.
A stainless-steel mould is then fitted into the tank for the casting of our PURALON® coating, which ensures a consistent coating thickness.
The tank and mould are then heated to processing temperature in a furnace. After that, speed is of the essence: the liquid PURALON®, which has also been heated, is poured into the tank. The tank is then returned to the oven to ensure the best possible curing of our PURALON® formulation.
This is the only way to achieve a perfectly adherent and wear-resistant lining for your container.
The container is then painted on the outside. We use water-based paints for this, which are no longer flammable. These are more environmentally friendly.
Finally, new components and attachments are fitted to the vibratory finishing tank. Your duplicate, which looks as good as new, is now complete.
Low-cost providers do not remove the old material from your container, but simply spray some sort of polyurethane over it. Standard polyurethane linings are porous and, over time, absorb water, Compounds, lubricants and so on. If we refer to this mixture as a release agent, it becomes clear why a cheap spray-applied lining cannot last very long.
Furthermore, with third-party coatings, you have no warranty on the steel structure.
Unfortunately, we have had to carry out damage control for customers who had their tanks coated by third parties.
The following image shows a third-party coating applied to a Trowal system which exhibited defects shortly after completion. Among other things, a worn flap had been refitted, components had been fitted inaccurately, and layering in the polyurethane lining was detected, which can lead to delamination.
Furthermore, the replacement of the unbalance weight by the third-party contractor may have caused damage to bolts and flanges. Fortunately, the damage was detected at an early stage.
